Consent (> 30 min english)

A science-based contribution to the consent discussion in Shibari, Bondage  and BDSM.

For more than 50 years, there has been ongoing discussion and improvement regarding consent in healthcare. This is supported by research and studies. 
Until now, neither the problems nor the results and indications from the healthcare sector have been given much attention in the bdsm consent discussions.

This course summarizes important issues in the consent process in healthcare and attempts to draw some parallels to bdsm consent.

The course does not give a new concept of consent but wants to draw attention to known problems in healthcare consent that are currently not even discussed in bdsm consent. 

To give just one example, it has long been known that even patients with medical background knowledge have failed to grasp almost half of important information after a consultation, even in a research context. 

We all know that consent is an important requirement for bdsm interaction in any form, but everyone should know not only about the risks of the session but also about inevitable inaccuracies in the consent process.
